I woke up this morning with a bit of a headache and I'm not sure if that was because of lack of food or because I had the best sleep I've had in a long time. So many dreams, vivid ones too, someone was painting a house. I think that's a subconscious hint for me to get my act together and just do it!
Anyhoo, the day has gone well and I've managed to keep under the 1400 calories I'm supposed to eat. That's not because I tried very hard, it was just that I wasn't really that hungry, which makes me think there must be something to the science behind the ADD, because Dr Johnson mentions that in his book.
At last, I might have found the right kind of lifestyle for me....yippee!
In fact, I was so full of the joys of Spring (the sun was shining - a rare occurrence in Ireland;-) ) that me and my OH took to the lanes for a quick walk. Only 40 minutes but it's a start and the plan is that one day I'll start running. Me? Run? Not done that since school days which was, errm, quite a long time ago, so that will be a very special day when that happens.
You might be wondering what triggered this insane desire to run? The OH got that running book, you know, "Run Fat Bitch Run" and left it lying around long enough for me to be intrigued and pick it up. Damn him! Ruth Field writes well though, so now I need to channel my inner fat bitch to make me move off the sofa and out onto the lanes. We have some lovely walks around here so I should make more of an effort. Today was just the beginning.
At least I had the chance to do my good deed for the day. A small terrier followed us home and, after checking with the local vet to see if she had been microchipped (no such luck), managed to find her owner. Thank God I have such a great memory for trivia (ie junk). I had this vague memory that the dog's name was Polly and she lived up the road. I was right and the dog lived happily ever after (and her name was Holly, so I wasn't too far out).
